Life essentials: Everything you need for this journey.

Our species has an inherent desire for constant novelty and change. Driven by that desire, many look forward to the new year to reset, refocus, set new goals and replace old habits with new ones. In the same manner, some are driven to seek new opportunities, new friendships, new wardrobes or even new partners and spouses.

This desire is mostly witnessed at the beginning of the year where to almost everyone the start of the year is a cue for change.

This is a crucial time when many people start feeling pressured into making choices they’re either not ready for or shouldn’t be making at all. Well before you dive deeper into the new year lets have a reflection of the previous years.

1.Have you fully utilized all that you have?

The deception of thinking that you need that which you don’t have is one of the misleading traps of your destiny. So most individuals spend time trying to acquire rather than developing what they have.

You see, the Lord is a savvy investor Romans 14:12. He expects a good return from His investment just like everyone does. No one sows to expect nothing. Therefore let me ask you this, with everything the Lord has given you what have you done with it?

Begin to realize that the only missing piece of your life is the recognition of whay the Lord has invested in you. You have everything you need!

2. How do you compare with those who have gone before us?

3000 people were added to the church in Acts 2: 41. In Acts 4: 4 we see 5000 people were added to the church. These were invincible men and women! Oh what an inspiring generation they were! How many have you added to the Kingdom of God. If Moses who didn’t have the Holy Spirit living in Him carried the Israelites out of Egypt, how much is expected from you who is the embodiment of Christ?

Why should I fully maximize what I have?

1. There is an expectation of God concerning the gifts He has given you.

For every gift you possess, there shall be accountability for it.

Before requesting for more gifts, make sure the ones you have have, been fully utilized.

2. Pearls are not thrown to swine

Everything of value is reserved for those who will wield it to a greater purpose. You cannot hoard the gifts of God just to do nothing with them

“Who would hang earrings on a dog’s ear or throw pearls in front of wild pigs? They’ll only trample them under their feet and then turn around and tear you to pieces! Matthew 7:6 TPT

3. The soon return of the Lord is eminent

Set your house in order.

Needless to say, with everything happening around us and all the Bible prophecies concerning the second coming of Christ, we know Jesus is coming soon. Make sure you are prepared!

2 Peter 3:9-10 KJV

[9] The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10a But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;

How do I fully maximize what the Lord has given me?

1. Recognize and record every give you have.

You are the light of the World, a city set on a hill cannot be hid. This statement was not a figurative speech.  Think of this,  a President doesn’t represent himself whenever he goes to a meeting. He is representing a nation. So if you count a Christian or yourself as an individual, you are wrong. We represent cities!

2. Sharpen each gift  you have.

You have to stir up your gift! Actively use that gift. 2 Timothy 1:6 TPT: I’m writing to encourage you to fan into a flame and rekindle the fire of the spiritual gift God imparted to you when I laid my hands upon.

3. Be resourceful.

Make the most out of your skills and leverage them. Be an ingenious individual.

In conclusion…

How you begin matters. You have to work with the Spirit of God to plan the trajectory of the year. If your prayer this year is Lord give me, take time to re evaluate yourself.  There’s untapped potential in you that you can maximize on. Learn to turn obstacles into victory.  Whatever gift you have use it to the fullest now, remember Jesus is coming soon!
